Yes, We Really Have "Been There, Done That"
We have been implementing Oracle Hyperion solutions for longer that we care to remember - well, since 2002 at least - long before we had any grey hairs to prove our longevity!
As well as over 20 years experience as an accountant, including practical Financial Controller and Finance Director roles, our MD has been involved in, to name just a few:
One of the first implementations of Hyperion Planning in the UK, way back in 2002 - a complex, driver-based planning model fully-integrated with an Essbase management reporting application, which brought him and his co-conspiritors to the attention of the Chief Development Officer of Hyperion, as was - the start of a long working relationship with the President and most of the members of the Hyperion Board
Implementation of the entire Hyperion suite of applications over a period of four years between 2003 and 2006 at British Telecom - what was then one of only a tiny handful of global integrated 'full EPM' implementations. In fact, back then, we (well, Hyperion) were still calling it BPM (Business Performance Management) - the term only morphed into EPM as part of the acquisition by Oracle, mainly to avoid its confusion with Business Process Management
Implementing Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) at various other FTSE-100 companies, including TUI Travel group - actually, FirstChoice initially, until they announced that they were merging, and changing their year-end date (!) right in the middle of a very tight six-month implementation project. That didn't stop us delivering successfully, on-time.
Implementing or advising on / fixing consolidation systems in most of the major UK banks. One of them wasn't even Oracle HFM - but most of the issues faced by any large EPM programme are independent of the technology being implemented.
The first UK implementation of Oracle Data Relationship Management (DRM), formerly known as Hyperion Master Data Management (MDM), in one of those banks, as a multi-user solution for managing a huge and complex global account chart used in HFM.
One of the first UK implementations of Hyperion Cost and Profitability Management (HPCM), a cost allocation solution for a leading global financial services firm.
